In this blog, I’ll take the whole process around the circle. I ran out of space in the article and thought it was really the sort of thing that readers of the article would want to experiment with.
#JSON COMPARE TABLE COLUMN FORMAT HOW TO#
The first was how to read a JSON string as a table, and the other was how to produce a JSON document from a table. There were a few questions that I’d left unanswered. In Figure 1, rows are produced for each value in the array associated with the 'phones' key. For the second dimension, we must specify which rows should be produced. In Figure 1, we see that the column names are ID, FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME, PHONETYPE, and PHONENUMBER. Also, an anonymous troll on StackOverflow had told me it was impossible. For the first dimension, we must specify which columns are in the relational table. It came from a real requirement I had at the time, but I got interested in it in order to show how one could analyse hierarchical data documents iteratively in TSQL. If tables you want to compare have different ordering, naming or quantity of columns, you can tweak their mappings and/or entirely skip columns youre not. I hadn’t really expected it to be so appreciated in fact I was nervous about posting it at all. One of the surprises that I got from writing for Simple-Talk was the popularity of my article Consuming JSON Strings in SQL Server.

#JSON COMPARE TABLE COLUMN FORMAT UPDATE#
Now I need to compare the Service Desc in table column and update the the remaining columns by fetching value from the JSON. From Nagios JSON query generator, I will generate a Availability report URL which returns the JSON value.
